Where Are We
Where We Are Expanding To

Where We Are

IRAQ

There are six paediatric oncology centres/units in Iraq, three in the north,  two in Baghdad and one the south. the best available data from one institution there are just under 300 new patient every year but real figures could be between 400-500 a year.
currently in one major hospital in Iraq there is demand of up to 6000 outpatient/year. Only two days can be dedicated to outpatient reviews resulting in overcrowding of clinic list of up to 90 patient seen in a single session. On the other hand, inpatient attend at an average of 130/month.
In Iraq the most common cancer presented to the unit is leukaemia (52%).
Many of these young patient with there families live outside the main units in the center of baghdad where its even extremely difficult to rise the transport money needed to reach these treatment centers and due to lack of accommodation in these centers some of these families live on the streets outside the centers while there children are been treated.
CLGF has recognised all these difficulties and now its well established in iraq and our services are provided to a large list of leukeamia children and there families.
We have also recognised the need for education to raise awareness about leukeamia so we have established links with local medical centers, libraries and universities (for example in the southern city of Dewaniya).
One of main targets now in iraq is to raise enough funds in order to build a hostel near the main treatment center in baghdad to house the leukeamia childern with a parent during treatment.

UK

There is one child with cancer in every 600 under the age of 15. This represents 1700 new cases every year across the uk where there are 22 childhood cancer specialist centers nationwide.
CLGF has recognised  there is a lack of accomodation for these children and their families within the london area. Our target is to provide some of the needed accomodation for these children and their families.

MOROCCO

There are two paediatric oncology centres/units and they located in the cities of DAR AL-Baydhah and Rubat, the best available data from one institution indicates that there are 1200 new patients every year, but these centres can only take 700 patients.
Many of these young patients with there family's live outside these two cities where its even extremely difficult to rise the transport money needed to reach these treatment centres.
Through our welfare programs we are helping many of these children.
